Replacing broken feet on a Kenwood stand mixer

The Most Versatile HandyMan

Updated: May 11, 2023

When one of the rubber feet of our mixer sheared off I didn't panic. It was one of 5 feet so with the remaining 4 feet sufficient stability was ensured. To avoid any scratches on the kitchen top I just replaced it with a plastic cap which matched the size of the hole for the feet of the mixer.

Unfortunately not so long after a second foot sheared off... I was considering to replace all the feet with the plastic caps (of which I had sufficient available) which should definitely not shear of that easily but I was afraid that the mixer wouldn't sit still on the kitchen top anymore when in use and would start moving around (and fall of the kitchen top!).

Left foot, earlier damaged and replaced by plastic cap. Bottom left foot now damaged.

This happened at the same time that I just ordered a new drive belt for a cd player (see previous post). I quickly checked and found out that I also could order a set of new feet at north.pl. As my drive belt order hadn't shipped yet, it was very easy to add those feet to the existing order without additional cost. Shoutout to north.pl!

Firstly I used a sharp tool to remove the locking nail from inside the foot. Secondly I removed the remainder of the foot with the same sharp tool.

Afterwards I pushed in the new foot and used a pin driver with little to no force to push in the locking nail.

2 feet replaced (greyish) and 3 original feet (black).
